For self-employed operators

Your business runs on four numbers. Know them cold.

What to charge. What to set aside for tax. How many months the cash lasts. Where every incoming dollar goes. The Operator Kit answers all four in your browser, in about ten minutes, with your real figures instead of someone else's rules of thumb.

The four modules

Built for people who invoice, not people who get payslips

When you work for yourself nobody withholds your tax, sets your rate, or warns you the runway is short. Most operators find these things out the expensive way. The kit exists so you find them out in an afternoon instead.

MODULE 01

Day Rate Builder

Works backward from the income you want to the rate you must charge, after overheads, tax, and the days you will actually bill. Most people who run it discover their current rate quietly pays them less than a salary would.

MODULE 02

Tax Set-Aside

Tells you exactly how much of each month's revenue to move into a separate account so the tax bill is boring when it lands. One number, updated whenever your revenue changes.

MODULE 03

Runway & Buffer

Shows the month the money runs out and how far you are from a proper six-month buffer, so a slow quarter is a plan and not a panic.

MODULE 04

Profit Split Allocator

Give every incoming payment a job before you can spend it: owner pay, tax, operating costs, and profit that stays put. Set your percentages once, then run each month's revenue through it.

Your subscription is $98 per month and renews automatically each month until you cancel; cancel anytime from the billing portal and you keep access until the end of the month you already paid for. The kit is an educational tool for planning your own numbers. It is not tax, accounting, or financial advice, and tax rules differ by country; confirm your actual obligations with a qualified accountant where you live. Full cancellation and refund terms are in the policy below.

Owner access

The kit

Enter your access code

It starts with "cs_" and sits in the email you received after payment. If you just finished checkout, the kit opens on its own.

Operator Kit / access verified

Be honest with billable days. Between selling, admin, holidays, and sick days, most solo operators bill 150 to 200 days a year, not 260. The rate only protects you if the day count is real. All money fields are in whatever currency you earn in.

Your floor rate

Gross income required-
Revenue required / yr-
Minimum day rate-
Equivalent hourly (8h day)-

This is the floor, not the ask. Quote below it and you are subsidizing your clients with your savings. Price above it for value whenever the work allows.

Use the effective rate from your last filed return, or your accountant's estimate. When in doubt, round up; a refund from your own tax account is a nicer surprise than a shortfall.

Move this before you spend anything

Taxable profit this month-
Set aside now-
As a share of revenue-

Transfer it to a separate account the day the invoice is paid. Money you can see in the main account has a way of getting spent.

Committed income means signed contracts and retainers only. Pipeline, proposals, and "should close soon" do not pay rent and do not belong in this field.

How long the cash lasts

Net monthly burn-
Runway-
Cash-out date at this burn-
Six-month buffer target-
Gap to buffer-

Under three months of runway means the next decision is about revenue or costs, not comfort. Over six and you can afford to say no to bad clients, which is the entire point of the buffer.

The percentages must total 100. Start with these defaults, then adjust to your reality over two or three months. The profit reserve is the one people skip, and the one that eventually buys them options.

Where this money goes

Owner pay-
Tax account-
Operating account-
Profit reserve-

Four transfers, once a month, in this order. The whole system is twenty minutes of admin that replaces a year of wondering where the money went.
